Kaya Jam Product Design

I noticed that Gardenia’s Kaya Jam packaging is not easily recognizable as kaya jam for travelers. Additionally, the design gives off a somewhat cheap impression and lacks cultural elements that reflect Malaysia. Because of this, I believe it has a lower chance of being purchased as a souvenir by foreign visitors.

Therefore, I redesigned the packaging using a transparent glass jar, making the kaya jam inside easily visible. To enhance its premium feel, I added a fabric cover over the lid, which can also be used as a scarf or handkerchief. This fabric features Batik, a traditional Malaysian textile with floral patterns, making it more culturally appealing and increasing its potential as a souvenir for travelers.
